Welcome to the Keefe Tech Library!

 

This page provides general information to students, parents / guardians, and faculty on various aspects of the library.  Please feel free to email Mrs. Kane with any questions or comments about the content within.

 

Information For Faculty

The library has two separate areas: A classroom setting and a study/circulation area with large tables and chairs.


The Classroom Area has a white board, room for 20 students, 10 desktops, 21 PC laptops, and a 15 Chromebooks cart.

The Study and Circulation areas have ample tables that can accommodate several different groups of students for studying and small group testing. .

The Independent Reading area is located in the middle and back of the library surrounding Mrs. Kane's desk.

The library books the Computer Lab (25 desktop computers) in room 215.  Please email Mrs. Kane or call Ext. 350 to reserve this room. 

Small Group Testing is done on a first come first served basis.  In order to ensure a quiet space for everyone, faculty are asked to reserve a space ahead of time by emailing or calling Mrs. Kane, Ext. 350.

 

For Students

  • The library is open Monday to Thursday from 7:20 a.m. to 3:00 p.m; on Fridays 7:00 a.m. - 2:05 p.m. 
  • Food and drink are not allowed, except bottle water.
  • Students check in with Mrs. Kane when they enter and leave the library, unless with a class.
  • Students must have a pass from a teacher during regular school hours, unless with a class.  Passes are not needed before or after school.
  • Computers are available on a first come, first served basis, if not reserved.
  • Students must leave their ID to borrow a laptop when using the library independently.
  • Students must adhere to the District's Acceptable Use Policy when using computers.
  • All of the library’s electronic equipment must remain in the Library.
  • Books may be borrowed for a three-week period, and may be renewed if no reserves have been placed on the item(s)
  • The library is an area for research, reading, independent study, and learning. Students are expected to respect the rights of others.

Mission Statement

The Keefe Tech Library Mission is to support academic and vocational instruction by providing faculty and student access to a collection of print, non-print and electronic digital media, along with training and support that will promote efficient, responsible use of all available resources.

In addition,the library supports and promotes reading for personal satisfaction by providing a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction materials intended to engage our varied student body and faculty.
